Beth Summers, OD

Dr. Summers is a board certified and New York State licensed optometrist, who provides comprehensive eye care at City Eye MD.


She is a graduate of SUNY State College of Optometry where she earned a dual degree of Doctorate of Optometry and Master in Science in Vision Science and graduated with honors (Beta Sigma Kappa).


Her graduate research work included hypertension screening. She completed externship training at St. Albans VA Hospital, specializing in ocular diseases, and Ezra Medical Center specializing in pediatrics and vision therapy evaluations and training. She also completed internship training in various specialty clinics including hard-to-fit specialty contact lenses, low vision, neuro-ophthalmic diseases, glaucoma, retina and other ocular diseases.


Dr. Summers is passionate about health care. She has served as the president of the SUNY Student Chapter of the American Public Health Association (APHA), and was awarded student fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO).


Dr. Summers received her baccalaureate degree in Biology from Stern College (New York City, New York), where she graduated summa cum laude.


Dr. Summers speaks English, conversational Spanish and basic Hebrew.
