Maayan E. Keshet, MD

 

Dr. Keshet is the medical and surgical director of City Eye MD. A board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery, she offers:

​

• state-of-the-art bladeless LASIK and PRK for the correction of myopia and astigmatism

• bladeless premium lens cataract surgery (multifocal and toric lens implants) 

• collagen-crosslinking and bladeless Intacs implantation for patients with keratoconus and corneal ectasias

• full and partial (DSAEK/DMAEK) corneal transplant surgeries for corneal edema, Fuchs' dystrophy, scarring, and trauma

• sutureless pterygium excision

• years of experience in treating ocular tumors, neoplasms, inflammatory conditions, and other diseases of the cornea and anterior segment.

 

Dr. Keshet graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine with honors (Alpha Omega Alpha Society).  She completed an ophthalmology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center and then sub-specialized in Cornea, Refractive Surgery, and External Diseases at the Tufts Medical Center, Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

 

Over the years, Dr. Keshet participated as an investigator in numerous research studies and clinical trials and has often presented lectures at national conferences. Besides City Eye M.D., Dr. Keshet is a cataract surgeon on staff at New York Eye Surgery Center. She is also on the medical advisory board of the New York Eye Bank for Sight Restoration and was named associate medical director in 2021. In 2013, was awarded the annual "Outstanding teacher" award by her residents.  She is an active speaker in the optometric COPE talks, and was nominated as top 20 Best Ophthalmologists in America by Newsweek Magazine in 2021.

 

Dr. Keshet continues to be involved in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Refractive and Cataract Surgeons, and the New York Ophthalmological Society. Her appointments include Manhattan Eye Ear Nose and Throat Hospital/Northwell Hospital, Mount Sinai Medical Centers/New York Eye and Ear, and New York University/Langone Medical Center. 

 

She speaks Spanish, French, and Hebrew.
