If you are looking for natural ways to improve dry eye syndrome, consider eating more fish, or foods containing omega three fatty acids. Regular hydration with water, having a humidifier in your home or work environment, and avoiding fans will also help keep the surface of your eyes moister. If you suffer from blepharitis or meibomian gland dysfunction (especially if you know you have rosacea), warm compresses with eyelid massage, and good eyelid hygiene can go a long way towards relieving your symptoms. Artificial tears, Restasis, and punctal plugs are great supplements to these natural remedies and can ameliorate the discomfort of dry eye syndrome.
